ABOUT ME

I’m Lisa. Hi. My initials spell out LAF, which is one of my favorite things to do. I love life, creating, collaborating, and inspiring those around me to live their best personal and professional lives.

I have lived a LOT of places. I was born in California, grew up in Utah, moved to Vegas at 14, where I finished high school and my undergraduate degree (a BA in Stage and Screen Acting) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. After that, I went straight into the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS for my Masters in Fine Arts in Theatre Performance. Upon graduating with my MFA, I toured for 7 months with Bright Start Theatre and Hampstead Stage Co: two-person touring companies where me and a partner are on "the front lines of theatre,” meaning we went to places which didn't have regional theatre, often giving communities their first glimpse of a live production in libraries and schools.

In the Fall of 2014, After touring, I settled in Philadelphia, PA for about six years. There, I served as a teaching artist for several professional theatre companies including, Theatre Horizon, The Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre, and Lantern Theatre Company. I also worked as an actor with Theatre Horizon, Reject Theatre Company, The Renegade Theatre, Manayunk Theatre Company, ReVamp Collective, and more. I also taught two sections of movement labs at The University of The Arts, and served as a Standardized Patient and Program Assistant at Penn Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. My largest work in Philadelphia was with Historic Philadelphia, where I got to merge my love of history and acting as Betsy at the Betsy Ross House, Eva Baen at the National Museum of American Jewish History, and Rebecca Franks at the National Constitution Center.

When the pandemic hit, I focused on my purpose: teaching full-time in higher education. I have worked as the Director of Theatre for Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, KS, and the Instructor of Theatre in Movement and Acting at Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX. I am currently the Assistant Professor of Theatre and BA Program Director at Brenau University in Gainesville, GA.
